Playback appears to have no head switching also VCR has no playback sound. On screen menu is in a foreign language and front buttons do not operate as they are labelled. Test switches do not operate.

Cause : The above symptoms may occur due to a mains supply interruption.

Cure : The above machines are effectively locked up and need to be released from this lockout before you can enter service mode and re enter the NVM data.

V852UK Hold audio dub button on remote control for more than 10 secs, then immediately proceed as per the NVRam option (with the exception that you do not need to press the test switch) instructions below

NVRAM Option Setting

1) Press the “SW713” button on Main PCB to set the adjustment mode
2) Press the “MENU” button on the remote control about 5 seconds then option setting display appears (See Below)
3) Select the option number (See Table Below) of corresponding model with “CURSOR” button on the remote control
4) When selection of the option number is completed, press the “OK” button on the remote control. (If “OK” button is pressed, the selected number colour is reversed
5) Press the “MENU” button on the remote control again to store the option number. (“PLEASE WAIT” is displayed for a second as shown below and the setting is completed)
6) Turn the Power off
